Matt Hansen
Head Cross Country & Assistant Track
Hansen, a 2004 graduate of Alvarado High School, won 3 district championships from 2001-2003, as well as numerous regional appearances. Hansen went on to compete at Dallas Baptist University in cross country and track. He was an All-American in the 5k in 2008 and set a then school record of 15:07 in the 5k, as well as being All-Conference in cross country in 2007. Hansen was an assistant coach at Dallas Baptist until 2011. Hansen is entering his 16th year of coaching and 14th year of teaching. This is his 1st year as head coach of Alvarado cross country after taking over for the legendary Coach Bishop.

Karrie Clark
Assistant Cross Country & Head Girls Basketball Coach
Coach Karrie Clark is a 2000 graduate of Alvarado High School and is now an educator and coach with a passion for developing young athletes into tough competitors. She earned her Bachelor’s degree from UTA and holds a Master’s in Higher Education Administration from Tarleton State. Coach Clark has spent nearly a decade teaching and coaching, starting at Wheat Middle School in Cleburne, followed by a role as Assistant Coach for Heritage’s Volleyball, Basketball, and Track in Midlothian. Now back at Alvarado, Coach Clark has served as Assistant Coach for Girls Basketball, Track, Cross Country, and last year as the Girls Athletic Coordinator at AJHS. She is dedicated to fostering teamwork and leadership in her scholars and is excited to inspire and empower the next generation of Indians.
